T600 E1 Configuration

Overview

Zycoo IPPBX is built on the Asterisk platform and supports the standard SIP protocol. It can connect to IMS SIP trunks from ITSPs (Internet Telephony Service Providers) as well as SIP endpoints.

This document provides instructions for E1 configuration on the T600 model.


E1 Setup Guide

1. E1 Line Standard

Ensure the E1 line conforms to the standard specification.


2. Loop Cable Wiring

For loopback testing, use the following pin connections:

3. E1 Configuration

Step 3.1: Log in to the IPPBX Web Portal

Log in to the IPPBX web interface using the admin account.

Step 3.2: Navigate to Module Settings

  1. Navigate to Telephony → Preferences → Module Settings

Important Note: If only one E1 module is being installed, please insert it into Slot 2.

Step 3.3: Configure E1 Parameters

Step 3.4: Apply Configuration

After completing the configuration, click Submit. The device will require a reboot for the changes to take effect.


4. Configure Trunk

  1. Navigate to Telephony → Outbound Control → Trunks

  2. The default trunk settings are generally sufficient for most deployments.



5. Configure Outbound Call Route

Step 5.1: Edit Dial Rule

  1. Navigate to Telephony → Outbound Control → Dial Rules

  2. Edit the default Dial Rule

Step 5.2: Configure Dial Permission

Ensure that DialPlan1 includes the DialOut rule.


Step 5.3: Configure Outbound Caller ID for Extension

Most E1 lines require caller ID authentication. Please configure the outbound caller ID as follows:

Step 5.4: Configure Inbound Route

Navigate to Telephony → Inbound Control → Inbound Routes


Set up the destination for the E1 trunk

Step 5.5: Configure Direct Routing (DID)

  1. Navigate to Telephony → Inbound Control → Direct Routing

  2. Add a new DID entry and enter your line number


Important Note: If the DID is not correctly configured in Direct Routing, incoming calls will be routed to the PRI-1 trunk via the default Inbound Routes settings.


6. E1 Status Verification

Step 6.1: Check Trunk Status

  1. Navigate to Dashboard → Trunks

  2. Verify that the Channel Status of the Digital Channel shows Up


Step 6.2: Troubleshooting

If the status shows Alarm, please follow these steps:

  1. Connect a loop cable to the E1 interface

  2. Reboot the device

  3. After the device has fully started up, confirm the E1 status again in the Digital Channel section

If the Digital Channel status shows Up, the E1 card is functioning properly.
