How to use SIP Proxy service

SIP Proxy Services

Overview

Zycoo IPPBX is built on the Asterisk platform and supports the standard SIP protocol. It can connect to IMS SIP trunks from ITSPs (Internet Telephony Service Providers) as well as SIP endpoints.

This document provides instructions for registering phones via the SIP Proxy domain from outside the office network.


SIP Proxy Configuration Setup Guide

1. Create the SIP Proxy Domain

Step 1.1: Log in to the IPPBX Web Portal

Log in to the IPPBX web interface using the admin account.

Step 1.2: Navigate to Remote Access Settings

  1. Navigate to Addons → Remote Access → Settings

Step 1.3: Configure Proxy Settings

Fill in your information according to the parameters below:

ParameterDescription
Domain ServerSelect the server with the green color indicator (best network latency). Please do not select China.
DomainEnter your own domain (e.g., instead of zycoopbx). Must be 6–16 characters, consisting of lowercase letters and digits only.
ProtocolChoose UDPTCP, or TLS. If UDP SIP is blocked in your region, select an alternative protocol. Otherwise, please use the default setting.


Step 1.4: Activate Free Trial

Note: Each device is eligible for a one-year free trial. After clicking the Free Trial button located at the top-right corner, the Domain will be fixed and cannot be changed.

Step 1.5: Security Recommendation

If Remote Web Access is enabled, please change the web portal password to ensure system security.


2. SIP Proxy Domain Status

Step 2.1: Navigate to Status Page

  1. Navigate to Addons → Remote Access → Status

Step 2.2: Verify Proxy Status

ParameterDescription
Proxy StatusRegistered – The device has successfully connected to the cloud proxy.
Expiratione.g., 2025-04-25 – The license expiration date. Please contact your sales manager to renew the license after this date.


3. Register Extension on IP Phone and CooCall

Step 3.1: Navigate to IP Extensions

  1. Navigate to Telephony → Extensions → IP Extensions

Step 3.2: Configure Remote Extension Settings

Click the Edit button for extension 809, then configure the following parameters:

Step 3.3: Download CooCall Mobile App (Optional)

If necessary, download the CooCall app from the following sources:

Step 3.4: Enable Push Notifications

  1. Navigate to Addons → SoftPhone → Settings

  2. Ensure the Push option is enabled

Step 3.5: Register CooCall via QR Code

Open the CooCall app and scan the QR code of the extension. Once registered, you can make and receive calls.

Step 3.6: Configure IP Phone Registration

Open the IP phone's web portal and enter the registration information as follows:

Note: The default port for SIP Registration Proxy Server (UDP/TCP) is 5160. The TLS port is 5162.
